snug as a bug

Kristin is right...my parents are just slow! And although i don't know this first hand, my suspicion is that they have become even slower since i arrived...especially my mom.

Sorry about the delays for new pictures.

Thankfully, I'm all taken care of. It's good to sleep in my carrier snuggled up with stuffed animals that make fun noises and a pacifier, just in case i need it. Ahh...life is good.

ok, so it might be a long shot, but we think we caught JP smiling! 7 weeks old yesterday...he sure is growing fast!

easy goin'

Well, this is mom. I know that we have alot of friends anxious for news on precious JP. They will all be happy to know that things are going well...really well. I think that we may have finally just started to get the hang of this. Right now our days are filled with a eating, playing and sleeping. All areas in which JP has proven to be a pro!

Here is dad with JP taking a snooze. JP does love to be held and one of his favorite places to sleep is right on top of daddy's chest...good stuff.

My First Bath!

Today Mommy decided that I smelled like formula so I needed a bath. Now that my umbilical cord, or electrical cord I'm not sure which it is, has fallen off I can get a real bath. I put some pictures on here so you can enjoy me in all my glory! ha-ha just a joke!

The First Picture is of mommy and me in my little bath tub. I really think I like the warm water.

Well Dad says that all good things have to end. I guess this means my bath is over. I'm off to get a new diaper and go to sleep tonight! I'll see you again soon.

Cordless

Well, it took a little longer than expected, but JP finally shook loose that umbilical cord! Belly buttons are fun! We're still not sure whether this is an "innie" or an "outie," but I'm sure that will become more obvious in the next few days!

In between all of the fun, JP loves to sleep...whether in the crib or in the swing!

We'll try to stay updated more often! Thanks to everyone who has been so encouraging and loving since JP has come to be part of our family. We are grateful for the love and support we have felt from our community around us.

And he spent some great one-0n-one time with Dad.

JP had his first bath...don't worry it was only a sponge bath. He smells so good!

Mema came to the house to see Mr. JP, while Great grandma Spears and Aunt Amanda got to see him while visiting Grand and Granddaddy.

So much has happened in the last three weeks! Please forgive us for not posting sooner, but we have had our hands full trying to figure out what exactly it takes to care for our new addition.

Indulge me for a minute...JP is gorgeous. I realize that it will not be appropriate for me to ascribe this word to my son for the majority of his life, so i thought i would take the opportunity and do so now since it is the one word that comes to mind almost every time i look at him. He truly is a miracle and i am amazed at how much you can love someone for just being...what a precious gift.

My First Day!

Hello! My name is JP and I'm going to be using my blog to tell you all about my life. Today was an ok day for me. I decided to just sleep most of today. I didn't do much of anything else. I had and ultrasound and an Uper GI scan. They made me drink some nasty contrast and I didn't like it so I spit it back up on them! All of my scans were normal, so mommy and daddy were very happy. They did great with all of this today, ha-ha! Well that's about it and I'm tired again, and in need of a diaper change, so I'm going to go back to sleep. Here's some new pictures before I go. They are of Me and Daddy, Me and Pastor Dusty, and Me and Aunt Anna.

A quick post from the new parents!

Dear Family,
How blessed we are to have so many people that love and care for us. We now have anothe person for you to shower down your love upon. Jason Paul "JP" Simmons was born on Thursday July 5th at 10:42 Pm. He weighs 6 puonds and 4 ounces and is 19 inches long. He and Beth are doing great and we look to be released from the hospital sometime tomorrow. I just want to say thank you for blessing us throughout this whole process. We know that God has a special plan for JP and we look forward to you, our church family, walking with us as God reveals it. I will have some infomation ad some pictures up at a blog for JP. This seems to help keep my cell phone from blowing up, haha, and will hopefully serve as an easy way to see what's going on with all three of us. Please be praying that both Beth and I will be able to rest as I've only had about 5 hours of sleep in the last 2 days and she's had about he same.

The First Post

Well here's the first post for baby JP! We are very excited about getting to see him in person in about 2 months. We'll be using this site to show you how we're getting ready for him, how he's doing, and how he's growing up. Hopefully we'll have lots of pictures to post along with the stories that come along with having a baby! See you again soon!
